Discovery Time

The children have really enjoyed being creative again at discovery time. There were some wonderful collages done with fabric. And some children made a superb 'tent'.

Programming the beebots

Today we had our first go with the Bee-Bots. We learned about programming them to go in the directions we wanted. It was a huge amount of fun!!
Comment from one child: "Every time it didn't work, then we changed it so it worked." Debugging in action.

Mr Moss- farewell assembly

Yesterday we had a special assembly to farewell Mr Moss our caretaker who is retiring. We made a booklet for him, and Darcy drew the cover picture. He showed Mr Moss watering the sunflowers so they could grow.

Dominoes Square- Maths

Today we had a real challenge. It made our brains hurt!- and grow!

We had to make a square with four dominoes and all the sides had to equal 9.

Mixing water and oil

Today we explored what happens when you mix water and oil. Then we checked out what happens when you add some detergent to the mix. These two girls were real scientists. They carefully looked at what was happening, and were very logical about what they tested out. Ka pai!

Ellie's Swimming

Ellie wrote a great story about going swimming at the Lido on the weekend.

Wow! Yesterday I went to the Lido with my Mummy and Daddy and my little sister. I floated on my back for the first time without a noodle, all by myself, without any help, not even a tiny bit of help. I went round the swirling bit. It pushed me around. I went in the waterfall. I did a lot of backstroke. My Mummy  and Daddy were very proud of me. I love going to the Lido. It's so much fun. I wanted an icecream but they were too expensive.
